The Hunt for Big Red 2016 Winners

| By Shannon GaNun

Three teams started the day Friday dreaming of catching the most big redfish and being crowned as Champions of the Hunt for Big Red. It was a beautiful morning when the teams left The Ford Plantation all searching for those redfish. The morning started with a very unusual light bite from the fish, but by midmorning the bite was on. Everyone was able to get in on the fun by catching at least one big fish.

In third place was team Scott/Fielding with a total of seven reds. In second place was team Trolinger/Zerbe with a total of 15 fish, with eight of the fish coming in the final hour of the tournament!  Way to go teams! The first place team was Team Corrigan/Dorman: in photo from left, Larry Dorman, Debi, Cary, and Rory Corrigan. This team, along with Captain Danny Sharpe, caught 38 fish, setting a new one-day tournament record! Way to go team! Congratulations!
