The Ford Yacht Basin is an expanded, modern descendant of the original built by Henry Ford for his cabin cruiser, Little Lulu. It is located on the Ogeechee River, 20 nautical miles from the Intracoastal Waterway among a network of pristine creeks and scenic canals. Yachts of up to 65 feet are accommodated with all the modern conveniences, yet the Marina retains the unpretentious charm of a coastal village.
A special feature of the Yacht Basin is The Ogeechee Outfitters marina store with its authentic Low Country rustic charm including the sign for "boled peenuts" and the antique soda machine on the front porch. The store features Ford logo apparel; shooting and fishing apparel; shooting, hunting, and fishing gear; boating accessories; a variety of bait; fly fishing and conventional tackle; and gift items, snacks and sundries. The screened porch features a large-screen TV and DVD player for informal get-togethers. The marina area also features grills for cooking your “catch of the day”.
