Dining at The Ford Plantation benefits from the estate’s proximity to Savannah, whose culinary reputation attracts talent from America’s most revered restaurants and leading culinary schools. Drawing on this wealth of talent and inspired by the regional cuisine of coastal Georgia, our chefs produce a consistently superb dining experience from the local catch of the day to southern homestyle cooking. The property’s Low Country heritage is celebrated with an abundance of fresh seafood. For every bow to tradition there is a subtle enhancement. Iced tea is infused with the essence of Georgia peaches; a plate of cookies fresh from the oven, served with a miniature milkshake, is simplicity elevated to perfection. The signature restaurant is in a suite of rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows on the upper level of The Ford Plantation Clubhouse.
Everyday Dining
Breakfast at the Main House is hearty southern-style with hospitality to match. Every morning, Members may wander into the dining room to enjoy an impressive array of fresh fruit, warm muffins and pastries or settle in and indulge in a full breakfast compete with southern homefries. Casual open-air dining is offered at the Lake Dye Grill. During special events, like our annual homecoming, we make use of the vintage Oyster House for a traditional Low Country oyster roast. The Main House is also the setting for special events throughout the year as well as frequent wine dinners where vintners from around the country come to The Ford Plantation to pair their favorite wines with the Chef’s newest creations.
