In the 1750's, Silk Hope Plantation became one of the most important rice plantations on the Ogeechee River under the ownership of Charleston merchant and American Revolutionary patriot Thomas Savage.

Purchased by Henry Ford in 1925, today this historic property is being transformed into a unique neighborhood of Low Country cottages.  Approached by winding country lanes, it is nesteled in the shade of an oak forest that includes many of the estate's oldest and largest trees.

Silk Hope Plantation is located conveniently close to several lakes, a bridle path, a duck and wildlife habitat, the Pete Dye - designed golf course and deep-water marina.
