When you have preferred tee times at a private Pete Dye golf course, you live well. When you’re welcome to play whenever the urge strikes, you live at The Ford Plantation. Tee times are as unfamiliar as unsweetened iced tea. That much freedom would be enviable at an ordinary neighborhood golf club. But this is the 18-hole championship course described by the master designer as "arguably my finest southern design."
The front nine is designed around 250 acres of freshwater lakes. The back nine is an exquisite Scottish-links style design within one of the original plantation rice fields. This challenging course, with its many turns, favors accuracy over distance and offers spectacular scenery with the occasional bald eagle, osprey or fox. |
